What Will Your Maintenance Agreement Include for Your MFD

Speaking of maintenance agreements, you must understand that there are a variety of options. While some can be renewed yearly, others will run their course at the end of a lease term. You have some that cover the parts and labor while others will cover the toner too. With some companies, their maintenance agreements will exclude customer replaceable units, which are consumables. While they spin it as a good thing saying, you can replace them yourselves, what they do not tell you is that you will have to pay extra because the maintenance contract does not include them.

CRUs aside, how about network support? Will your maintenance agreement cover the network board of your MFD if it fails? What if you change email servers or upgrade all your PCs to the latest system? You must consider these things because the scenarios described above do not occur infrequently. When you pay for network support on your maintenance agreement, most dealers will offer some level of network support. They may have set a predetermined increment of time in the contract. Always be wary of salespeople who tell you one thing when the contract says otherwise. Never sign a contract until everything has become clear.
